Experience the Ultimate Universal Document Viewer

View PDF, CAD, Office and email files in the browser, free and with no account — and license the same .NET rendering engine for your own app with Doconut.

Open the file, close the tab

OnlineDocumentViewer renders documents in the browser. An AutoCAD drawing, an Excel sheet, a Photoshop file: upload it, read it, close the tab. No install, no account, no fee.

What it does

70+ extensions through one upload box:

  • The formats — PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, DWG, DXF, DGN, PSD, MSG, EML, TIFF, VSDX, MPP, EPUB and more.
  • Zero installation — no plugin, no download, nothing to approve on a locked-down machine.
  • Rendering fidelity — fonts, layouts and layers as saved. Where a font is missing, a substitute stands in and the layout shifts slightly; the content does not change.
  • Nothing stored — HTTPS in transit, and the upload deleted after viewing.
  • A ceiling per format — 25 MB for PDF, PSD, Visio, EPUB, TIFF and images; 20 MB for Excel, PowerPoint and Project; 15 MB for Word and RTF; 10 MB for CAD and email; 5 MB for HTML, XML and text.

And what it does not do: no editing, no annotation, no accounts, no sharing links, no batch upload, and no OCR — search finds text a document already carries, not text inside a scan.

The same engine, inside your own application

Everything above runs on Doconut.com, a .NET document viewer library. That is the product for teams who want this rendering in their own software rather than on a public page.

  • Developers — a NuGet package for ASP.NET Core and MVC, with Blazor, Angular and SharePoint integrations documented.
  • Enterprises — self-hosted. It ships to Windows, Linux and Docker with your app.
  • Compliance — the document never leaves your network, which is the only arrangement that works for regulated material.
  • Coverage — 75 extensions across 18 families, DICOM included as a licensed plugin. The free viewers here deliberately leave DICOM out.

Or open a file here first: it is the same renderer, and it costs nothing to find out what it does with yours.
