Multi-Format Viewing with OnlineDocumentViewer

OnlineDocumentViewer provides instant, free, zero‑install viewing of PDFs, Word, Excel, CAD, PSD and 70+ formats directly in any browser.

OnlineDocumentViewer renders a document on the server and shows it in your browser: a 200-page PDF, a DWG drawing, a layered PSD. Free, no account, 70+ extensions, and the file deleted when you close it.

What it is

  • Zero install, zero registration — upload a file and read it. No plugin, no account, no paid tier.
  • Any device — a desktop, a tablet or a phone; it is a web page.
  • Server-side rendering — the browser receives pages, not the original file, which is why a DWG opens on a phone and why nothing in the document executes on your machine.
  • Deleted afterwards — the upload goes when the session ends. No library, no second copy.

What you get on an open document

PDFDOC / DOCX / ODT
Page navigation and jump to page✅✅
Zoom and fit to window✅✅
Print✅✅
Text search✅✅

Search reads a text layer. A PDF written by a word processor has one; a scanned page is a picture of text and returns nothing, because there is no OCR here.

Browser-Based CAD File Viewer for Architects and Engineers

DWG, DXF and DGN, up to 10 MB, on the CAD viewer. Read a plan on a tablet on site, with no AutoCAD anywhere near it.

  • Layer control — switch individual layers off to read a crowded plan.
  • Measurement — distance, angle and area, taken on the open drawing.
  • Vector rendering — line weights, hatches and dimension text stay accurate at every zoom level, and title blocks stay legible at full zoom. The render comes from the drawing data, not from the low-resolution preview thumbnail stored in the file.
  • Multi-sheet files open a sheet at a time.

It renders; it does not edit. To send a drawing to someone with no CAD software at all, the CAD converter exports DWG and DXF to PDF at up to 5 MB.

View PSD Files Online Without Adobe Photoshop

Up to 25 MB, on the PSD viewer. What renders is the composite Photoshop saved — layer order, masks, blend modes and adjustment layers already applied, and hidden layers still hidden.

Be clear about the limits, because "PSD viewer" invites the wrong expectation:

  • There is no layer panel, and no way to toggle layers on and off. You see the flattened result.
  • There is no export. Nothing here writes out a PNG.
  • PSB, the large-document format, is not accepted.
  • A file saved with Photoshop's Maximize Compatibility switched off carries no composite, and no reader outside Photoshop can show much of it.

CMYK and greyscale documents are converted to RGB for display, with the embedded ICC profile applied. Missing fonts do not matter: type was rasterised on save.

Where the ceiling is

Set per format, because a drawing and a text file do not cost the same to render:

ViewerLimit
PDF, PSD, Visio, TIFF, EPUB, images25 MB
Excel, PowerPoint, Project20 MB
Word, RTF15 MB
CAD, email10 MB
HTML, XML, plain text5 MB

Over the line, the upload box refuses the file and says which limit it hit.

Common Questions

Q: Do I need an account? A: No. No sign-up, no sign-in, and no paid tier — the viewers here are free, and the commercial product is the SDK on Doconut.com.

Q: What happens to my file? A: It travels over HTTPS, renders on the server, and is deleted when the session ends. Nothing is stored and there is no library.

Q: Can I embed the viewer in my own site? A: Not this one. The website is not embeddable and has no API. The Doconut SDK is the licensed .NET library for that, running on your own servers.

Q: Can I upload several files at once? A: No. One file per upload — no ZIP, no folder, no queue.
