The best cloud web based online excel file viewer that can view .xls, .xlsx, ods documents formats online right from your web browser. No need to install microsoft office or any kind of activeX or software to view microsoft online word viewer (.doc and .docx), excel (.xls and .xlsx), online powerpoint viewer (.ppt and pptx). No plugins required! Easily view excel files online from your web browser!
Eight extensions are accepted on the Excel viewer: XLS, XLSX, CSV, ODS, XLSM, XLSB, XLTX and XLTM, up to 20 MB per upload. No Microsoft Office, no ActiveX, no plugin, no account.
What renders: column widths, merged cells, number and date formats, and embedded charts. Formula cells show their result, not the formula text. Macros in an XLSM are never run — the workbook is drawn, not executed. Every sheet opens, not only the active tab. A protected workbook opens when you type the open password into the field under the upload box.
The file is deleted from the server after viewing. There is no account, no library and no second copy.
There is also an option of exporting excel worksheets to PDF online for free — Excel to JPG and Excel to PNG too, all taking XLS and XLSX up to 5 MB.
Putting a viewer inside your own application
This website is free and hosted; it is not embeddable and has no API. Embedding the same rendering engine in a WebForms, MVC, .NET Core or Blazor application is the Doconut .NET SDK — a licensed library that runs on your own servers.
